Centrify DirectControl Suite Becomes First Solution that Extends Active Directory to Unix/Linux Environments to be Certified for Microsoft Windows 2003

Independent Testing Firm VeriTest Confirms Functionality, Reliability and Security of Centrify's Enterprise Identity Management

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Centrify Corporation, a leading provider of Active Directory-based identity, access and policy management solutions, today announced that DirectControl(TM) is the first solution that integrates Unix/Linux environments into Active Directory to successfully complete Microsoft's rigorous, industry-leading "Certified for Windows" program. The certification was through VeriTest, the independent testing division of Lionbridge Technologies. . DirectControl is an integrated identity, access and policy management solution that extends the capabilities of Microsoft(R) Active Directory(R) for mixed Microsoft Windows(R), UNIX(R) and Linux(R) environments and Java(TM) and web-based applications.

"Certification through VeriTest ensures Centrify's solution delivers superior levels of reliability and manageability when running on Microsoft Windows 2003, thereby reducing cost of ownership for their enterprise customers," said Katrina Teague, vice president of Marketing and Solutions, VeriTest.

DirectControl delivers significant cost savings by enabling administrators to move to a single directory and point of administration for mixed Windows, Linux/Unix and Java/J2EE environments. Customers can now map multiple Unix User IDs (UIDs) to a single Active Directory account to provide users with a single sign-on experience and to reliably control a user's access to all systems and applications. DirectControl helps address top security concerns such as enforcing consistent password policies across the enterprise and eliminating the security risk of orphan accounts. An additional benefit is that DirectControl performs the centralized auditing and reporting required to show compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA. By consolidating all user account management in Microsoft Active Directory, an organization is able to extend Active Directory's benefits to non-Windows platforms without increasing administrative overhead.

The "Certified for Windows" logo carries the Microsoft seal of approval, confirming that the product has been tested by experts and shown to exhibit high quality and dependability. It demonstrates that the solution will integrate seamlessly into an existing Windows-based infrastructure and that it will perform to industry standards -- an endorsement designed to satisfy the high expectations of customers today.
